Short Description
This course is intended to develop general linguistic ability in German with a clear emphasis on oral/aural communication. It provides an introduction, in theory and in practice, to aspects of interpreting.

20 1-hour seminars at days and times to be arranged.
Requirements of Entry
Confirmed acceptance on to either the German Honours or Level 3 programmes.
Assessment
Continuous Assessment (33.33%) - A continuous assessment mark for participation (assessed internally by tutors based on the quality of participation in class) in the Liaison Interpreting tutorial will form 33.33% of the Degree Examination mark.
Degree Examination (66.66%) - The assessment of this course will be by practical examination of c. 15 minutes conducted by internal examiners at the end of Semester 2.
