Practice Placement B
The assignment will be in two parts.
Students will prepare a reflection on the settings visited as it relates to the Standard for Childhood Practice (SSSC, 2016) and a critical appraisal of the learning opportunities (1000 +/- 10%) 25%
Using the reflections and learning from the practice placement experience, students will present a narrative which identifies the learning opportunities and indicate how they can develop practice and/or leadership skills (3000 +/- 10%). 75%
This course aims to:
provide a practical opportunity for students, within their own setting, to apply and critically reflect on theory and knowledge developed within the programme
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course participants will:
Describe the placement organisation's purpose, structure, policies and values and the subsequent contribution it provides to the children and families it serves.
Evaluate the learning opportunities for children and staff provided by the their partner's/colleagues setting (and the wider provider context) (such as working toward the Standard for Childhood Practice (QAA, 2016))
Identify key aspects of practice with the placement setting and indicate why they are strengths
