Short Description

Through a range of elective options this course offers the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in education. It integrates enquiry-based approaches to enhance and enrich learning and teaching in the primary classroom while deepening disciplinary, pedagogical or interdisciplinary insights.

Course Aims

The course aims to deepen areas of specialisation for educators, enriching and enhancing their subject knowledge while developing their knowledge and understanding of practitioner enquiry. Students will gain a critical understanding of how to carry out practitioner enquiries.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate the ability to use academic literature to support their developing practice and enquiring stance.

2. Demonstrate a critical understanding of enquiry-based approaches to explore professional practice

3. Demonstrate understanding of key ethical issues around educational research
