Course Aims

The purpose of the dissertation is for students to conduct a research that is relevant to religious education in secondary schools. The dissertation is the final work of the student to acquire a degree and is an important indication of the creative and critical skills of the student.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

■ justify their choice of topic and their rationale for research

■ review literature and to present this in a reflective way

■ conduct research and analyse the data

■ make philosophical analysis

■ present the data or outcome of the analysis

■ draw valid conclusions of the research

■ present their work in a coherent and well-built dissertation.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Completion of dissertation at grade D3 or above.
