Short Description

This course develops student teachers' who choose to study abroad in year 3 the ability to analyse curriculum structures and principles to develop skills in reflecting on and designing learning experiences that integrate inclusive pedagogies and assessment strategies that promote active engagement and progression across the curriculum.

Course Aims

The aim of this course is to develop student teachers as reflective, enquiring and empowered professionals who can evaluate curriculum frameworks and structures and design inclusive learning and assessment approaches that encourage curiosity and active engagement. It seeks to establish the foundations of professional agency by creating thematic and contextually responsive curriculum plans that support meaningful learning experiences.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

1. Critically evaluate curriculum frameworks, structures and principles to inform decisions about learning, teaching and assessment.

2. Design and justify inclusive and contextually responsive learning experiences that foster curiosity and active engagement.

3. Analyse and reflect on the effectiveness of pedagogical and assessment strategies in supporting progression and participation for diverse learners.
