Short Description
This course supports students in exploring the role and responsibilities of the teacher and develop practical teaching skills through university experiences and a primary school placement to demonstrate emerging competence in aspects of the GTCS Standards for Provisional Registration.

50%: Teacher report demonstrating appropriate competence in meeting aspects of the GTCS Standards for Provisional Registration.
50% Portfolio containing observations and reflections that demonstrate an understanding of learning taking place.

Course Aims
This course aims to support student teachers in developing an understanding of small group planning and implementation by engaging with a learning and teaching cycle. Through observation, reflection and professional dialogue, students will develop their knowledge and understanding of the diverse needs of learners.
This course enables students to demonstrate some aspects of the GTCS Standards for Provisional Registration.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to plan and implement small group learning opportunities.
2. Demonstrate effective working knowledge of a learning and teaching cycle.
