Short Description

This course equips students to implement the MedTech solutions they have identified and designed by focusing on key areas such as risk management, economic evaluation, and IT integration within the healthcare systems. Students will conduct evaluations to inform patient pathway redesign and ensure smooth integration of new technologies into existing healthcare infrastructure. Through case studies, interactive workshops, and real-world implementation scenarios, students will develop actionable plans to support the successful deployment of MedTech innovations.

Course Aims

This course enables students to cultivate capabilities in technology assessment and patient pathway redesign for seamless implementation of a MedTech solution into the healthcare systems. Learners will develop approaches to overcome existing digital architecture challenges in the healthcare system to ensure sustainable adoption of the solution.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

1. Develop strategies for redesigning patient pathways for the integration of MedTech solutions while considering resource implications and cost-effectiveness.

2. Critically evaluate digital architectures to reconcile legacy healthcare systems with emerging MedTech solutions. 

3. Critically appraise service evaluation strategies to assess real-world performance, clinical outcomes, and local economic impact of the implemented solution.
