Professor Christina Cobbold, of the University of Glasgow’s School of Mathematics & Statistics, is a co-author of the paper and a co-supervisor of Sandeep Tegar’s PhD research. She said: "With the aid of mathematical modelling we've been able to show Chikungunya has a lower thermal threshold for transmission than previously thought, carrying a higher risk of outbreaks across Europe."
