College of Science and Engineering scores highly in multiple University rankings.

Our College competes with the top UK universities and has achieved great success in the recent UK and World rankings. Five of our Schools feature in the UK top 10 universities in the Complete University Guide 2014, including Physics and Astronomy who are 5th in the UK. The School of Computing Science has achieved considerable success in the Guardian 2014 rankings, and is placed 2nd in the UK ahead of Cambridge and Oxford universities. Similarly the School of Psychology, often commended for teaching excellence and popularity, has achieved 4th in the UK in the Guardian 2014 rankings.

Our School of Engineering, the oldest Engineering School in the UK, houses a range of engineering disciplines from the aero suite of PGT programmes, to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and Mechanical Engineering. They have achieved numerous successes this year across the UK and Scottish rankings, including Electronic and Electrical Engineering (or EEE as it is often referred to) coming 6th in the UK in the Guardian 2014 rankings.

The College is leading the way in science and engineering within the Scottish rankings, achieving the No. 1 ranking in Scotland across a wide range of disciplines including; Aeronautical Engineering, Computing Science, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, and Psychology in the Complete University Guide 2014.

And finally, we celebrate the recent success of the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences who have been placed No. 1 ranking in Scotland according the Guardian 2014 rankings and 27th in the world in the QS World Rankings 2013.
