Lost in Space: Mapping the Structure of Cancer

Published: 30 January 2023

This project explores visually how location can be key to understanding cancer.

To understand cancer, it's important to consider not just the cells themselves, but also how they are located. Studying how cancer cells are distributed and their relation to neighbouring tissues could lead to new avenues for prevention, detection and treatment. This project looks into emerging technologies which can help visualise the changes in cell location and distribution as cancer develops.

In this exhibit, the researchers hope to share this new way of looking at cells and how they can provide hope for the future. It is led by Andrew Cameron from the School of Cancer Sciences.
