Policy & Business Intelligence Manager
Responsibilities include:
- Reporting to College Senior Management in the management of research throughout the College, including advising and informing research policy and procedures.
- Coordinating and providing advice on the College’s submission to the Research Excellence Framework, including interim and ongoing research quality assessments.
- Providing advice to the Dean of Research and the College Research & Knowledge Transfer Committee.
- Analysis of management information to assist the College in developing research strategy.
- Assessing data quality ahead of submission to HESA, paying particular attention to the interplay between datasets to ensure College business is portrayed optimally.
- Developing and supporting the Impact Strategy in the Capturing Impact theme and driving forward the development of tools and reports to capture impact activity across all areas of the College.
Alice has a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology from the University of Glasgow and experience as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Rheumatology, University of Birmingham. She then moved to Sussex to work as Research Manager at Action Medical Research before moving back to Glasgow, joining the Faculty of Medicine as Faculty Research Manager prior to becoming Head of Research Administration for the College of MVLS after the College restructuring. This has given her a breadth of experience of the issues and challenges facing academic research from varying perspectives as a researcher, from the funder’s viewpoint, as well as an in depth understanding of university policy and processes.
