Dr Carsten Weerth has been elected head of BDZ Deutsche Zoll

Dr Weerth is also the Customs Chief Inspector at the Main Customs Office and founder of the Centre for Customs Law and Customs Research.

Alumnus Dr Carsten Weerth, LLM MA (BSc 1994) has been elected as head of the BDZ German Customs and Finance Union local association in Bremen. Dr Weerth is Customs Chief Inspector at the Main Customs Office Bremen and founder of the Centre for Customs Law and Customs Research (Bremen).

Dr Weerth was elected judge (magistrate) at the following courts:

  • Amtsgericht Bremen: 2009-2013 and 2019-2023
  • Verwaltungsgericht Bremen: 2016-2021
  • Oberverwaltungsgericht Bremen: 2020-2025

He has also held lectureships at the following Universities:

  • Hochschule für Öffentliche Verwaltung (School of Public Administration)
  • Hochschule Bremen (City University of Applied Sciences)
  • Jacobs University Bremen
  • FOM Hochschule (University of Economics and Management)
  • IUBH Duales Studium - International University Bad Honnef
