Paddy Watson, a University of Glasgow alumnus in Dentistry and Biotechnology, and former University researcher, has completed the challenge of running the entire length of Scotland, from John o’ Groats to Gretna.

The challenge was undertaken alongside fellow dental colleagues Stuart Campbell, Ryan Stewart and Derek Marner, all University of Dundee alumni.

Battling through injuries and adverse weather, the epic run consisted of each running over 420 miles across 12 days without any days off, an average of 35 miles a day. At the time of writing the team have raised over £12,000 for SAMH, Scotland’s Association for Mental Health.

Currently, Paddy says he has no plans to continue his run to Lands End!

The University would like to congratulate Paddy, Stuart, Ryan and Derek for this amazing achievement and raising money for a great cause.
