Glasgow graduate and Clinical Psychologist Dr Emma Hepburn (DClinPsy, 2006) has published her debut book, A Toolkit for Modern Life’, with Quercus books.

Emma, who currently works with NHS Grampian in North East Scotland, hopes the book will allow readers to cultivate positive habits and develop a toolkit of constructive strategies to prioritise their mental health and feel more confident and in tune with themselves.

The book, which details Emma’s proven and practical exercises and techniques for mental wellbeing, has its origins in her successful Instagram account, @thepsychologymum. Emma set-up the account a few years ago as a creative outlet, and it went viral during lockdown as users looked for novel ways to care for their mental health.

On the account Emma shares doodles and drawings which explore mental health and how the brain works, and it is her trademark illustrations which bring her new book to life.

‘A Toolkit for Modern Life’ is available to buy online and in bookshops now.
