Short Description
A practical lab-based course which provides experience in the key skills needed by a professional statistician, including ethical considerations and presentation skills in communicating statistical analysis to different audiences.

Course Aims
This course aims to:
■ prepare students for their possible future role as practising statisticians and data analysts
■ develop written and verbal skills to different audiences, through individual and teamwork exercises, including reproducible written reports and presentations
■ introduce ethical considerations of statistics and data analytics
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
■ use critical thinking to collate results and conclusions
■ work actively and independently, as well as in a team on a practical data analysis project
■ explain and present results and conclusions to different types of audiences
