Biography
Dr William Haese-Hill is a Research Software Engineer (RSE), working within the MVLS Shared Research Facilities (SRF) since 2024. He completed a PhD in Mathematical Physics in 2015, before spending a number of years in industry; firstly as a mathematical/pharmocometric modeller in an oncology CRO, followed by several general software development roles across various sectors.
William joined the University of Glasgow in 2021 as a Programmer/Data Analyst within Professor Thomas Otto's lab in the School of Infection & Immunity, where he gained experience in developing software for computational biology research.
He has since gone on to work on research projects across the life sciences, as well as delivering teaching/training in MVLS, and presenting at events to advocate for good software development practices in research.
