I started my postdoctoral position in Glasgow in 2010, when I joined Cheryl Woolhead’s group to study membrane protein biogenesis. At this time, I had recently completed my PhD at the University of Warwick, and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in scientific research.

Sarah Hesse

Sarah Hesse is a postgraduate research student in the Tobin/ Bradley group as well as the new LGBTQ+ champion for the institute and Athena SWAN Committee.

Colin Molloy

Colin is a Technician within the Bradley/Tobin group, working on with the group on coupled protein receptors and looks at neuroscience, mouse lung physiology or immunology. He is also our Disability Champion and sits on the Athena SWAN Committee.

I consider myself a plant molecular biologist. I started as a postdoc in Rucha Karnik’s lab on summer 2019. My research interests are focused on SNARE trafficking in stomatal defences against bacterial pathogens in Arabidopsis. I am from San Fernando, a sunny small island in the Southwest coast of Spain.

Sophie joined the School of Molecular Biosciences in 2016 as an LKAS Fellow, where she had a good work/life balance and often travelled back home to Leicester to visit family. Sophie has now left but remains here as a Fellow.

I started my position in Glasgow in July 2020 during the height of lockdown and have still not set foot on campus. When I do find my way back to the office, however, it will be a homecoming for me. Glasgow is home.
