Workshop 3: 29 April 2022

Published: 18 April 2022

Emerging technologies for digitally enabled sensory engagement with exhibits of items from our written past.

This third and final workshop in the series sees presentations from Fabio Antinori (Artist), Claire Quigley (Micthell Library, Glasgow), Prof. Bill Endres (University of Oklahoma), and Susana Sanchez-Gonzalez (University of Manchester) discussing emerging technologies for digitally enabled sensory engagement with exhibits of items from our written past. Bringing together artists, librarians, and academics, it considers the applications of these technologies across neighbouring sectors and reflects on what we might learn from exploring emotional responses in textual heritage exhibitions.

Considering the topic from both pre- and post-pandemic perspectives - and defining "exhibition spaces" very broadly to include various points of access - this workshop series brings together librarians, museum curators, artists, and researchers to discuss the challenges of physical and digital exhibition, and the possibilities of emerging digital technologies for connecting audiences with the written past.
