Groundbreaking research sheds new light on a 'majestic' Mithraic Altar from Carrawburgh Roman Fort

Dr Louisa Campbell's latest paper has uncovered and reconstructed a complete unique palette of colour on a Roman altar close to Hadrian's Wall and shows it to have had a final golden layer painted on the inscription panel.
