Biography

Derek started working as a Software Developer for Scottish Equitable in Edinburgh, then moving to Luxembourg. Derek then joined a consultancy as a Software Developer, Team Lead, Systems Analyst and Business Analyst travelling to the USA, South Africa, Poland, Switzerland and Hong Kong.

Derek then joined JP Morgan (an American Bank) in 2007 as a Project Manager/Product Owner. Leading several teams to develop and maintain applications for JP Morgan. Derek jointly developed a course with the University of Glasgow to deliver to fourth year students .

Derek then joined the University of Glasgow in June 2018 to develop the Software Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship. Derek also looks after the summer and year long internship for the Software Engineering degree programmes.
