Local authorities work

GRG supports local authorities across the UK to engage with gambling harm prevention in their jurisdictions. We participate in informal consultations, offering evidence and insights from our research and knowledge of the policy landscape.

Recently, Bunn and Wardle led a GRG team to provide a gambling harms needs assessment for Blackburn with Darwen council. The needs assessment provided localised statistical evidence on gambling harms as well as a detailed overview of stakeholder perspectives on needs and existing provisions, culminating in eight recommendations. The team attended a launch event with local stakeholders at which an action plan was co-developed in response to the report.
