MMarianna Golinucciarianna Golinucci is a third-year PhD student in the Centre for Gender History, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Scottish Graduate School. She is supervised by Maud Bracke, Corey Gibson and Sourit Bhattacharya.

Combining archival documents, oral histories and literary sources, her research investigates the multifaceted experiences of activism (campaigning groups, cultural associations, community work, politically motivated literary production) of women of African and Asian descent in 1970s-1980s Scotland. Adopting an intersectional lens - and specifically looking at the ways in which race, gender and class intervened in mediating African and Asian women's social positions, experiences and grassroots organising in the Scottish context - her research seeks to expand existing historiography on the women's movement in Britain, as well as contribute to questions of race and racism in Scotland after decolonisation.
