Hannah recently defended her doctoral thesis, in which she investigated the transnational development of feminist activism in Finland, Sweden and Denmark from the 1960s into the 1990s.

Yoken, HannahHannah recently defended her doctoral thesis, in which she investigated the transnational development of feminist activism in Finland, Sweden and Denmark from the 1960s into the 1990s. Her research was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in doctoral training partnership with the Scottish Graduate School of Arts and Humanities (2016-2019) and by the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland (2020). In the autumn of 2018 she was a visiting doctoral researcher at Stockholm University, in partnership with the Swedish Labour Movement's Archives and Library. Yoken has expertise in multilingual oral history methodology and extensive experience conducting international archival research. Her work has been published in numerous publications, in both English and Finnish, and she sits on the editorial board of the Finnish book series Cultural History. She currently works as a Learning, Teaching & Scholarship Tutor in History at the University of Glasgow and runs the Centre for Gender History’s social media sites.
