Lovelace-Hodgkin Symposium
Responsible AI and Education
We are delighted to invite you to the second annual Lovelace-Hodgkin Symposium on AI Ethics, taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of October 2025 at the Advanced Research Centre (ARC), University of Glasgow.
This year's theme will be Responsible AI and Education, bringing together leading voices from public policy, education, government, academia, research, & the student voice to explore how artificial intelligence can be developed, incorporated and used responsibly in lifelong learning.
Building on the success of last year’s symposium, we continue to foster critical discussion and collaboration to inform policy, practice and innovation in responsible AI, with a focus on education. We look forward to welcoming you to this solution-focused event in person.
Our vision
Our Evolving Vision
Our vision remains rooted in the belief that AI must be a force for social good, addressing and not amplifying existing inequalities. We envision a future where AI is developed, used and governed with fairness, inclusion and the public good at its core.
In 2025, the Lovelace-Hodgkin Symposium will continue to provide a vital platform for dialogue between AI practitioners and experts in equality, diversity, and inclusion.
This year, we will shape a shared ethical framework for inclusive AI in lifelong education and beyond, identify institutional priorities, and contribute to practical resources, such as the co-creation of an interactive online course on ethical AI use.
Dates: 2nd to 3rd October 2025 at the Advanced Research Centre.
