Short Description

This course will facilitate students to hone their skills in monogastric rationing systems and tools.

Course Aims

The course will provide students with an in-depth knowledge and background to rationing systems and farm-level tools for monitoring rations for monogastric animals.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

 

■ Describe and evaluate the different rationing systems and tools used in monogastric feeding programmes and how they can be used for monitoring the effects of rationing decisions on-farm;

■ Determine suitable feed rations for monogastrics according to physiological status;

■ Critically discuss the implications of nutrition on feed efficiency, product quality and the environment.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
