University of Glasgow ranks in world top 100 in QS University Rankings

University places 79th in QS Rankings 2026, out of 1,501 institutions.
The University of Glasgow has placed 79th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2026, released today (19 June 2025).
The results mean the University places 12th in the UK in the annual global university league table.
The QS World University Rankings 2026 evaluate over 1,500 institutions worldwide, based on metrics including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, and international outlook.
Under a new methodology for 2026, the University improved its score in the majority of metrics ranked by QS, including:
- Faculty-student ratio (up 12.3 points)
- Citations per faculty (up 12.3 points)
- Academic reputation (up 10.9 points)
