A state-of-the-art behavioural research facility has been launched at the Adam Smith Business School.
The Glasgow Experimental Lab (GaEL) is dedicated to advancing the science of human decision-making.
Designed for ecologically valid, fully controlled, and incentivised experiments, GaEL supports highly reproducible and replicable behavioural studies; best practices in experimental design and implementation; and strong research-teaching linkages to enrich student learning.
GaEL is committed to fostering collaboration across disciplines and promoting rigorous, impactful research that bridges theory and real-world application.
The team behind GaEL conduct highly reproducible and replicable studies on human decision-making processes and promote experimental best practices that enhance research-teaching linkages.
Lab Director Dr Zvonimir Bašić said: “I'm very glad that, after a lot of dedicated work, the lab is now open and ready to support research. We look forward to seeing it grow and to the high-quality studies it will help produce."
The interdisciplinary lab includes 24 workstations separated by cubicles and one experimentalist workstation. It is also equipped to collect participants’ biometric data.
GaEL will offer a wide range of expertise and guidance on understanding how people make decisions, with plans to deliver external consultancy projects.
