The University of Glasgow has improved its position by three places globally, while maintaining its position of 10th in the UK.

The improvement is a significant achievement as the number of institutions included in the THE World University Rankings grows year-on-year, with 99 new global institutions for 2026. The University of Glasgow now ranks 84th from the 2,191 ranked universities around the world.

The University performed strongly in the ‘Research Quality’ and ‘International Outlook’ pillars, where it placed 26th and 33rd in the world respectively. The Times Higher Education World Rankings are the most comprehensive set of rankings in Higher Education. Trusted worldwide by students, teachers, governments and industry experts, the rankings give an annual review of the global higher education landscape.
