The Big Four battled past 97 other UK teams to reach the country final on 14 June in London. They produced an innovative business analysis and a particularly strong presentation. At the final they triumphed over rivals from London Metropolitan University, Leicester University and Abertay Dundee University. The UK competition was organised in partnership with Barclays, sponsored by Tesco and supported by Milkround.

The Big Four were mentored by Christopher Coles at the University of Glasgow, who said of their accomplishment: "I am delighted with the Big Four's achievement and they are a credit to themselves and the University. They worked so hard to reach the final and to actually win it was the icing on the cake. I am sure they will do themselves and all of us proud at the global final and could even follow in the footsteps of their UK counterparts last year and go on to win the trophy”

David Rowsby, Regional Director, Europe at CIMA, added: “I extend my congratulations to the Big Four on their fantastic achievement in winning the UK final of the CIMA GBC 2013. The standard of this year’s competition was higher than ever. The Global Business Challenge highlights the pool of business talent in the UK and I look forward to seeing the business leaders of tomorrow showcasing their skills at the global final. Many of the world’s most senior business leaders qualify with CIMA and we currently have over 203,000 members and students in 173 countries. I would like to wish the team every success in August.”
