Philosophy lecturer Dr David Bain was possibly one of the most widely-read academics in Britain this week.

An article he wrote for BBC News Online marking World Philosophy Day was the most emailed article and the second-most popular in the world on the BBC’s website on Thursday 20 November.

The article posed four mind-bending philosophical questions designed to get readers thinking about how we as humans construct our moral and ethical values and reasoning.
