Queen Margaret residences re-visited

This week the new Queen Margaret Residence welcomes its first visitors. During September accommodation will be available to visitors on a bed only basis, with complimentary American style breakfast, at ?24.85.

This week the University will welcome its first visitors to the New Queen Margaret Residence. QM Hall, originally built in the early 1960's, closed its doors at the end of June 2000. The buildings have since been demolished and re-built offering the most up-to-date student accommodation available.

The new Residence was designed by the ADF Partnership and built by Melville Dundas. The 382 bedrooms are all en-suite, with data and telephone points and communal lounge/kitchen. Six of these rooms are suitable for wheelchair access. The site is within easy walking distance of the University and has off-street parking.

During September, this accommodation will be available to visitors on a bed-only basis, although there will be a complimentary coffee and muffin available each morning in the Central Facility Block for those who appreciate an "American Style" breakfast. The cost for this is £24.85.

Next year the accommodation will be available from the beginning of July until mid-September. As the accommodation is expected to be very popular with both students and visitors, it is advisable to book as early as possible if you are planning a Conference within the next few years.

If you would like to view this accommodation, you are invited to attend an Open Day at Queen Margaret Residence on Thursday 12th September between 12 noon and 2pm. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Ishbel Duncan on 0141 330 3110, or email: i.duncan@admin.gla.ac.uk to register your name.
