The Timetabling Programme is a series of projects aimed to achieve our end goal of efficient and flexible utilisation of the University teaching estate.
The programme launched in January 2023. At the time, there was some use of external venues which, in addition to incurring cost, disrupted both the student and staff experience.
The programme aimed to ensure that all teaching could be accommodated on campus by improving space utilisation and streamlining planning, enhancing the quality and consistency of the teaching environment.
Scale of Challenge

- Every academic year, there are approximately 42,000 events to be roomed for teaching purposes
- The University estate has approximately 560 rooms in which to accommodate its teaching activity
