Update on UCU pensions dispute

Latest on the dispute: Universities UK and the UCU trade union propose to establish a Joint Expert Panel to review the valuation of the USS pension scheme.
As you may have seen in the press, Universities UK has made a proposal to the UCU trade union that a Joint Expert Panel should be established to review the valuation of the USS pension scheme. The UCU has agreed to put this proposal to its members while UUK consults employers. If the proposal is accepted by both parties and by the USS Trustee, we expect the industrial action will be suspended. UUK and UCU will also seek the support of the Pensions Regulator.
