Both CENSIS, the University of Glasgow-led Innovation Centre for Sensor and Imaging Systems, and the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences’ work on precision medicine at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, have been shortlisted for the ‘Collaboration for Change’ category at the Herald Global Game Changers awards 2017.

The Game Changers awards recognise and reward innovation and sustainability at an international level, across all business sectors. The awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday this week (September 13) at the Glasgow Science Centre.

Two more nominations come from the Herald’s Diversity Awards, the winners of which are set to be announced on Thursday 12 October.

Professor Lyndsay Fletcher, of the School of Physics and Astronomy, has been nominated in the category of ‘Diversity Hero of the Year’ for her commitment to encouraging women in science, as well as championing better conditions for parents and carers across the University.

The University’s Reach Scotland programme has been nominated in the category of ‘Diversity Through Education. Reach Scotland, led by Dr Neil Croll, works to encourage S4-S6 pupils to pursue professional degrees in Dentistry, Law, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine and Surgery.
