New Director of SGSAH

The Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH) has announced the appointment of Dr Theresa McKinven as Director.

The Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH) has announced the appointment of Dr Theresa McKinven as Director.

Theresa has a strong commitment to enhancing the experience of doctoral researchers, internationalisation, equality, and inclusivity. She has a wide variety of experience in UK and international HE, most recently as Head of the Postgraduate Office of the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, and prior to that as Vice-Principal and Senior Tutor at Ustinov College, Durham University.

Theresa said: “I’m delighted to have joined such a distinctive and forward-looking organisation, with strong valuespromoting the very best in doctoral education in the arts & humanities.

“SGSAH is already recognised as being a leading organisation in developing Scotland’s arts & humanities research capacity.  I’m looking forward to working with our members and partners at SGSAH on the next phase of our development, ensuring the best experience for doctoral researchers, developing stronger links with international arts & humanities research communities, and strengthening our existing commitment to equality and inclusivity’.

As Director, Theresa will develop and implement the policies of the SGSAH, providing leadership to our initiatives and furthering the variety of work currently being done in the sector by the SGSAH.
