The UofG - MVLS - has been nominated for this year's Global Game Changers awards.

The UofG has been nominated for this year's Global Game Changers awards.

The University of Glasgow’s College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences is in the shortlist for the Collaboration for Change category.

This category recognises new or completed projects developed through a Triple Helix approach. This is where a university or college has joined forces with representatives from industry and government on an initiative that offers a solution to a societal problem at a local, national or international level.

The MVLS nomination cites the UofG's partnership with industry and the NHS to create the thriving new biomedical innovation cluster at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow, now the largest hospital in Europe, with a focus on precision medicine.

The creation of the new Clinical Innovation Zone (CIZ) at the QEUH includes 22,000 sq ft of dedicated space for companies to engage with academia and industry. The CIZ has already achieved UK Science Park status and been showcased as an exemplar of a facility designed to foster open innovation with industry.

The awards evening takes place on Wednesday 13 September.
