Local community invited to hear the latest from UofG's campus development.

Community engagement 700

The University held a public engagement meeting for the campus development last night (26 November).

Around 30 people attended the event in the Wolfson Medical Building, including members of the community, local councillors and business owners.

Peter Haggarty, Director of Construction and Facilities Management, introduced presentations from the University as well as our main contractor, Multiplex, on various aspects of the work.

Over the course of the evening, the audience were updated about progress on the James McCune Smith Learning Hub and the Boyd Orr Building refurbishment, the latest from the Western site, as well as the plans for infrastructure of the Western site and University Avenue.

The University hosts public engagement meetings on campus developments every six months.

Speaking after the event, Peter Haggarty said:

“This was another very useful evening event, discussing campus development. It was interesting and informative to hear feedback and comments from our local community and we will certainly take these on board, bearing them in mind as we continue to build our new campus.”
