Construction work will start on the Date Annex site at the rear of the University Library on Monday 20 August.

The programme will require the closure of the lane which runs between the rear of University Gardens and the Library. This will be barriered with no through route for pedestrians or vehicles between Hillhead Street and University Gardens until the completion of the works, in July 2019.

The new data centre, designed by architects HLM and will be built by Graham Construction, will accommodate data for ScotGrid and the School of Physics and Astronomy in one hall; the second hall’s occupant will be decided in due course.

Please be aware that the work will mean some traffic will be accessing the site via Hillhead Street. The contractors will ensure that barriers are banksmen are used to direct people when vehicles are moving, however staff and students are asked to take extra care when using this area.

The Communications Team will be issuing monthly updates to those based in the most affected parts of the campus to advise about upcoming works. ‌
