LTH update

Now that the tower-cranes are on the Learning and Teaching Hub site, work is focussing on pouring concrete and building up the piles.  This work, being carried out by Careys - a sub-contractor of the University's main contractor, Multiplex - is expected to last some 12 weeks.

Survey Cameras

The Campus Development team are temporarily installing cameras at the main entrances and exits on the main (South) Gilmorehill campus. These will be in position near University Avenue and Dumbarton Road. These are solely to collect data on vehicle and pedestrian movements.  This will help revise priorities for pedestrians and vehicles, inform the rules about limits on vehicle size and use at certain times of the day, and help thinking about future one-way systems. The information collected will help inform how the University develops people-friendly transport and pedestrian strategies as the campus develops and becomes truly world-changing.

All data collected will be handled in line with Data Protection legislation and will be erased in due course according to codes of practice. Please be assured the cameras are NOT there to monitor individuals or for face-recognition purposes. If you want to know more, please email campus-development@glasgow.ac.uk.
