The University’s School of Engineering is setting out its stall at the Farnborough Airshow this summer for the first time.

Its presence in the Innovation Zone of the show, which this year celebrates 100 years of aviation, is aimed at demonstrating the excellence of its aerospace research, identifying new industry partners for collaborative research, and generating interest in its courses.

The key research themes on show will be aerodynamics, structures and materials, propulsion and systems.  The stand will be manned by researchers from a range of aerospace-related disciplines.

The show, which runs from July 14-20, attracts more than 100,000 visitors each year. The University has been active in aerospace research for over 60 years. It is a member of the National Wind-Tunnel Facility and Vertical-Lift Network Consortium and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in aerospace and mechanical engineering on campuses in Glasgow, Singapore and China.
