New Ten Minute Talks - This Unrivalled Collection: The Hunterian's first catalogue

Enjoy free lunchtime talks at 1pm every Wednesday until 7 August 2013 in the Hunterian Art Gallery. Step back in time and see what the Hunterian Museum was like in 1813. This series will provide a fascinating insight into our latest exhibition, which celebrates the 200th anniversary of The Hunterian's first ever guidebook, published by the mysterious Captain James Laskey in 1813. Specially selected items from the original museum are on show.

National Cycling Championships possible disruption

Glasgow is hosting British Cycling's National Road Race Championships 2013 in June. It is the first time a city had been selected to stage this prestigious event.

The road race element of the event takes place on Sunday 23 June with the majority of racing based within Glasgow's city centre that will provide a spectacular backdrop for this elite-level competition. On both Saturday 22 June and Sunday 23 June it is expected there will be disruption in the Gilmorehill area.

You can find more details on the City Council website: http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=9819
