The School was 'Highly Commended' in the category of Best Education Provider at the awards ceremony in London earlier this month.

Margaret Sneddon, Head of Nursing and Health Care said: "We were one of only three Universities that received a special commendation in any of the 17 categories shortlisted. This is a wonderful achievement and one the whole School should be very proud of – well done!

"There is a strong sense of identity and pride in being part of the School and part of the nursing profession amongst both our students and staff. To get this commendation is a welcome recognition that since being established in 1978, we have continued to offer an excellent student experience and produce truly exceptional graduate nurses.”

The award is a further boost for the School after being rated 1st by students studying adult nursing in the National Student Survey, being ranked 2nd in the UK for nursing by the Times Higher University Guide and the Guardian Good University Guide. The Complete University Guide for 2014 ranked the School 5th in the UK, a rise of 7 places since the previous year.
