Telephone system changeover

The university is currently carrying out an upgrade to the telephone system

The university is currently carrying out an upgrade to the telephone system as the old system is no longer fit for purpose.  The project team has completed the initial 2 stages of the project (IT and computing science) and around 200 staff are now using the new phone system.

Overall, feedback from staff members has been positive.  There has been minimal disruption while the physical changeover has taken place in both buildings and staff are happy with the new system.

The project will be rolled out over all the colleges and university services in 2012. Individual schools will contact you when the change to the new system is to take place in your building.  An approximate schedule of dates will be available in the next couple of weeks.

Most staff will receive a new handset, an information guide that will include basic information on how to use the phone, with a web-link to the IT website for more detailed information on the phone and its functions.  If there are any problems during the changeover, support is available from IT services where you can lodge any issues.
