The Glasgow University Japanese Society will screen a documentary on 20th March to raise funds for areas in Japan hit by the tsunami.

The Glasgow University Japanese Society will screen a documentary on Tuesday 20th March as part of fundraising efforts to support local projects in areas devastated by last year's tsunami in Japan.  This will be of the 2012 Academy Award nominated 'Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom', made by British director Lucy Walker.

It will be a free screening - and one of the first screenings in Scotland - though we'll be collecting donations at the door.  It's being held in Committee Room 1 of the Queen Margaret Union from 6:30.  It's a very moving look at the human impact of the tsunami behind the shocking images and the tolls of the dead and missing.

Information and a trailer on the documentary itself can be found at: http://thetsunamiandthecherryblossom.com/
