The election for appointment as the Clerk of Senate has been won by Professor John Briggs, School of Geographical and Earth Sciences.

The election for appointment as the Clerk of Senate has been won by Professor John Briggs, School of Geographical and Earth Sciences.  The other candidates were Professor Paul Bishop (Geographical and Earth Sciences) and Professor David Fearn (Mathematics and Statistics). 

Professor Briggs’ appointment was confirmed at a special meeting of Senate on 19 June.  Professor Briggs succeeds Professor Graham Caie and he will take up office on 1 August for a four-year period.
