Medical Research Council Postgraduate Day Winners

The College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences held their annual MRC postgraduate day on Friday 1 June 2012.

The College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences held its annual Medical Research Council Postgraduate Day on Friday 1st June 2012. 8 PhD Students made oral presentations to the invited audience, whilst another 12 students participated in a poster competition. The audience were addressed by Dr Peter Dukes, the Head Research Career Awards from the MRC, Dr Alan Lamont from Eli Lilly and Dr Justin Bower from the Beatson Institute.

Joint first prize winners poster presentation were research students Lydia Murray and Tamer Abdelrahman, whilst Mona Foth won the prize for best Oral Presentation.

Dr Dukes commented, “What a great bunch of enthusiastic people, who clearly enjoyed the chances you gave them to network with each other”.
