Operational Support Services sent out an email to library staff informing them of the event and asking them if they would like to have a stall at the fair, 10% of the proceeds to be donated to the charity.

Tickets for the event were sold at £3 and this included a drink, nibbles and entry into the entrance raffle (tower of treats). The first prize in the main raffle was a cake (Christmas Stollen) which was donated by one of our own medical students, James Morton who was runner up in the recent Great British Bake Off television programme.

Stalls included:

  • Paintings
  • Baking
  • Jewellery & floral arrangements
  • Name the teddy
  • Guess the number of sweets
  • Raffle

The event was well attended and a total of £1742.31 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.  The cheque was presented to Elaine Hamilton, Regional Fundraising Manager on Tuesday 18th December by the Operational Support Services team who organised the event.
