Sport & Recreation, along with a number of internal and external partners, are delighted to announce the dates for this year’s Sport & Wellbeing Week. The Wellbeing Week is entering its third year and this year takes place from Monday 28 January to Sunday 3 February. The week provides a wealth of events and opportunities aimed at raising awareness and promoting the benefits of leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

The launch event provides a great start to the week and following on from Mark Beaumont and Jamie Andrews who launched the week in the past two years we are delighted that record breaking cyclist Graeme Obree along with former Scottish Rugby internationalist John Beattie will be part of this year’s event. The launch event will include a talk from Graeme, followed by the panel discussion, which will be interactive with the audience and will be chaired by John Beattie. The topic of the panel discussion is ‘If participating in sport and leading an active lifestyle provides so many benefits, how come physical activity levels are so low across Scotland?’

The Sport & Wellbeing Week is a 'must try' event, and a great addition to the University calendar. Throughout the week, staff and students will be given opportunities to experience an exceptionally diverse range of activities that promote sport and general wellbeing. Previous sessions such as the nutritional seminars, mental health sessions and free remedial massages all return, along with a host of new activities including Glasgow 2014 workshops, bare foot running and some daily exercise challenges.

Please keep an eye on the website for the most up to date information about events.
