University academic appointed as ‘green judge’

Dr Jim Hansom has been appointed as a judge to the Green Insurance Company’s Green Grants scheme

Dr Jim Hansom has been appointed as a judge to the Green Insurance Company’s Green Grants scheme.

The Green Grants will be awarded to environmentally friendly projects from across the UK that help to encourage green behaviour in local communities across the UK.

Jim is a reader in Geographical and Earth Science at the University and will use his experience in this area to judge the entries for scope and potential. He will sit on a panel of four professionals from across the sector.

The Green Insurance Company offers an environmentally friendly service to customers and carbon offset all their insurance packages. The Green Grants scheme donates up to £40,000 to communit eco-projects from across the UK.

Entry for the scheme is currently open and will close on Wednesday 30 November, more details are available on the Green Insurance Company website.
