Binding: Scotland, 19th-century parchment-covered boards, remains of red leather title label;  sprinkled blue and red-edged leaves;  binder’s stamp on front pastedown “Maclehose, Glasgow”.   Size:  216 x 152 mm.
Leaf size: 210 x 147 mm.
Annotations: Marginal annotations in a 16th-century hand, mainly selecting keywords, in quires C-E, together with several manicules;  parchment leaf inserted at end containing a list, in a late medieval hand, of saints’ days from the liturgical calendar and references to Roman churches including S. Paulus extra muros and S. Laurentius extra muros.
Decoration: Large initials supplied in red directly onto the page;  some small initials supplied in red on small squares of paper which have then been pasted onto the page;  capitals and paragraph marks stroked in red;  printed running headlines underlined in red;  frequent use of red brackets.
